The Trustees are keen to try and provide practical support and financial assistance to people living with MND outside of their day to day direct medical needs. One way to do this is to help those who are perhaps in need of house or garden adaptations. Over the past year we have helped a number of such individuals and their families in providing new wet rooms, ramp access and garden improvements to make their life just a little bit more manageable and enjoyable.
In 2022 we helped ‘Mr C’ gain better access to his garden with new decking so that he could share it with friends and enjoy his passion of star gazing in the last few months of his life. Most recently, following a direct request we have installed a new wet room and ramp access throughout a house for ‘Mr P’. His wife commented “…that is such wonderful news. We cannot thank you enough for such a generous grant. It will make such a difference to him being able to access the outside world in his wheelchair.
