On Saturday 4th May Winscombe Ladies Hockey, who are lucky enough to count Malcolm’s daughter, Lottie, as one of their talented young players, held a fundraising hockey tournament.
Over thirty players turned up, from across all five squads, to enjoy a mixed team, round robin of hockey in memory of Malcolm Gunter and to raise funds for the foundation.
Three games were played in all, with some excellent hockey skills being showcased, making our first team, premier league hockey players undistinguishable from our younger fourth and fifth team players! Well, almost!!
After the matches everyone enjoyed some delicious teas which were served in the club pavilion by some of the lovely parent supporters who had turned up to spectate. A raffle was also held which helped to boost the money raised with lots of lovely prizes being won by a good many people.
It was a really fun club event and although Penny and Lottie were unfortunately unable to attend on the day they were very much in everyone’s thoughts and hearts.
